What we collect, and where

Market Alerts signup (the alerts page). Your email address, your ZIP code, how far you’re willing to travel (10, 25, 50, or 100 miles), whether you’re a vendor, an organizer, or a patron, and whether you also want Brisk Booth updates. Your ZIP is required because the alerts are matched to it — without it, there’s nothing to match.

Launch Waitlist signup (the home page). Your email address, your role (vendor, organizer, or patron), and your ZIP code if you choose to give it. There’s also a checkbox, ticked by default, that adds you to the weekly roundup as well — untick it and you get only the launch email.

The weekly roundup link. If you join the waitlist, your welcome email contains a personal link back to this site. That link carries your email, ZIP, and role so you can join the roundup with one click and nothing to re-type. If you use it, we also save the travel distance you pick on that page.

Add or fix a listing (the Map Corrections page). Your name, your email, your role (organizer, vendor, or patron), and the details of the listing you’re adding or correcting — business or market name, address, dates, hours, vendor registration status and deadlines, and links. We ask for your email so we can write back and confirm.

Tell us what you need (the feedback page). Your role and your note. Your name and email are optional — the email is only there if you want a reply.

Just browsing. The maps and pages work without an account and without signing up. This site sets no cookies, and it runs no advertising trackers. Our host, Cloudflare, counts visits to the site for us (Cloudflare Web Analytics): page views, which sites sent visitors our way, and visitors’ countries, all in aggregate. It uses no cookies and does not identify or follow individual visitors. The map pages load their map software, fonts, and map tiles directly from the services that provide them (Google Fonts, unpkg, and the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Map), so your browser talks to those services when a page loads, the same as on most websites.

How we use it

The information on the maps

Most of what the maps show — market and bakery names, addresses, dates, hours, registration status — is business information compiled from public sources, and it is published on the map for everyone to see. If business information about you is on the map and you’d like it changed or removed, use the Map Corrections page or email adam@briskbooth.com and we’ll take care of it.

If you run a market

Some organizer contact details (like an email address an organizer publishes for vendor questions) come from public sources — the market’s own website, listing, or posts — rather than from a form on this site. We use those only to write about that market’s own listing, and any organizer can ask us to stop or to remove their details, and we will.

Who helps us run this

We don’t run this alone, and we don’t hand your information to anyone else:

We do not sell your information

Your personal information is never sold, rented, or traded — not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. It is used for the alerts, the roundup, and the maps, and that’s it.

How long we keep it

Your signup details stay on the list while you’re subscribed. Unsubscribe, or email us and ask, and you’re removed — and our record of what we emailed you goes with it. Notes sent through the corrections and feedback forms are kept as part of our working records for the maps.

Your choices

Security, in plain terms

Your information sits with established providers (Brevo and Cloudflare) behind password-protected accounts, and access is limited to the people who run Brisk Booth. No system is perfect, but we keep the amount we collect small on purpose — for alerts, it’s an email, a ZIP, a distance, and a role.

Children

This site is built for adults who sell at, run, or shop at markets. It isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect or how we use it ever changes, this page will be updated and the effective date at the top will change with it. If the change is a big one, we’ll mention it in a roundup email too.
